Major Arcana 1: The Magician 🪄 by tuktukswag

Format: Commander

Commander: Massimo, the Magician

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Massimo, the Magician helms a Jeskai spellslinger deck built around cheap instants and sorceries. The primary plan uses unblockable creatures (Blighted Agent, Triton Shorestalker) to deliver copied spells exiled by Massimo's trigger, chaining Lightning Bolt, Grapeshot, or Boltwave for massive damage. Secondary lines rely on Prismari, the Inspiration or Ral, Crackling Wit to grant storm, enabling a critical-mass win. The deck's low curve and dense cantrip suite (Ponder, Preordain, Consider, etc.) fuel draw and selection, while value engines like Kykar, Wind's Fury, Archmage Emeritus, and Veyran, Voice of Duality compound spell triggers. It forgoes traditional tutors, reducing consistency, but compensates with redundancy and strong instant-speed interaction.
