Deck overview

This mono-black deck runs a dedicated Shadowborn Apostle engine commanded by Taborax, Hope's Demise. Its primary strategy revolves around casting cheap 1-mana Apostles during the opening turns, deploying Taborax, and sacrificing 6 Apostles on Turn 4 to put a high-impact Demon directly onto the battlefield while refilling the hand with 6 fresh cards. The premier tutor target, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, converts any remaining creatures and life into specific combo pieces, supported by burst mana from Songs of the Damned. On Turn 5, the deck closes the game in one turn through Bloodletter of Aclazotz combined with a kicked Scourge of the Skyclaves for instant 40-life loss across all opponents, or through Thrumming Stone rippling all remaining Apostles into play alongside Relic Vial drain. While vulnerable to early board sweepers and devoid of stack interaction, its functional redundancy and mass recursion provide rapid, resilient finishes.
