Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Azorius Stax and Prison deck commanded by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. It aims to construct an asymmetric resource disparity early in the game by slowing down opponents with mana taxation, rule-of-law effects, and ability suppression while accelerating its own deployment. The commander's cost-reduction ability enables the pilot to cast powerful artifacts, enchantments, and planeswalkers ahead of schedule. The deck transitions from early disruption into decisive hard locks, most notably pairing Knowledge Pool with Drannith Magistrate or Lavinia, Azorius Renegade to completely lock opponents out of casting spells. Alternatively, the deck can strip opposing resources through asymmetric mass land destruction like Armageddon or total board neutralization with Humility and Ensnaring Bridge. Supported by premier free countermagic, robust card draw engines like The One Ring and Rhystic Study, and versatile graveyard recursion, the deck maintains suffocating control over the table from the midgame onward until victory is assured.
