Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic monoblack artifact aristocrats and reanimation strategy helmed by Imotekh the Stormlord. The primary plan focuses on creating incremental board advantage by repeatedly moving artifact cards out of the graveyard using recursive creatures like Myr Retriever, Scrap Trawler, and Scrapheap Scrounger. Each occurrence triggers Imotekh to spawn 2/2 black Necron Warrior tokens, which can be sacrificed to Ashnod's Altar or Altar of Dementia to generate mana and self-mill. The deck converts this engine into a win through drain payoffs such as Marionette Apprentice, Marionette Master, and Syr Konrad, the Grim, or through explosive turns powered by Bolas's Citadel and Living Death. While the deck boasts robust engine recovery and solid card flow, its reliance on natural draws for noncreature artifacts and its vulnerability to rest-in-peace graveyard hate dictate a deliberate, mid-game pacing.
