Deck overview

This is a Gruul lands-matter beatdown deck built entirely around the earthbend mechanic. Commander Toph, Greatest Earthbender is the damage amplifier: every land creature you control has double strike, which turns animated lands into devastating attackers. The 99 packs twenty-plus earthbend effects - Bumi, Unleashed, Avatar Kyoshi, Earthbender, the Badgermoles, the alternate Tophs, Solid Ground, Rockalanche - that animate lands as hasty 0/0s loaded with +1/+1 counters; because those lands return to the battlefield tapped when they die or are exiled, the deck has unusual resilience to board wipes. The primary kill is combat: massive double-strike land swings, with Bumi, Unleashed, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, and Great Train Heist adding extra combat phases that chain lethal damage in a single turn. Inkmoth Nexus offers a fast poison alternative, and The Legend of Kyoshi transforms into a hexproof/trample anthem that also produces enormous mana.
