Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Jund midrange engine commanded by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch that converts -1/-1 counter placement into card advantage, life drain, and board dominance. In the early game, cheap ramp spells and blight creatures set up the mana base and establish early fodder. By Turn 4, the commander enters to start drawing cards whenever you put counters on your own creatures and draining opponents when their creatures receive counters. In the midgame, token generators like Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Nest of Scarabs combine with widespread counter spreaders like Carnifex Demon, Soul Snuffers, and Darkness Descends to wipe opposing boards while creating a massive army of Snakes and Insects. The deck locks down opposing combat through Kulrath Knight, steals opposing threats with Necroskitter, and finishes games via swarming combat damage backed by life-drain engines like Obelisk Spider and Zulaport Cutthroat, or through the Blowfly Infestation infinite loop.
