Deck overview

This deck leverages Toph, the First Metalbender to turn nontoken artifacts into lands while animating them into recurring attackers through the Earthbend mechanic. Because earthbent lands return to the battlefield tapped whenever they die or are exiled, the deck turns traditional creature board wipes into ramp and tempo gains. A dense package of 2-drop and 3-drop ramp spells ensures the commander hits the battlefield by turn 3 or 4. Once established, heavy hitters like Bumi, Unleashed, Avenger of Zendikar, and Rampaging Baloths turn land drops and combat phases into rapid board growth. The deck breaks parity on board wipes using Planar Outburst, which destroys nonland creatures while leaving land creatures untouched. It closes games by overrunning opponents with resilient land creatures, extra combat phases, and direct damage triggers from Alibou, Ancient Witness and Sabotender.
