Deck overview

This Izzet deck operates as a Polymorph-style cheat engine headed by Shaun, Father of Synths. Rather than deploying low-impact legends to duplicate with Shaun, the deck leverages efficient token producers such as Goblin Assault, Krenko's Command, and Urabrask's Forge as expendable fodder for cheat spells including Polymorph, Transmogrify, Reality Scramble, and Proteus Staff. On Turn 5, it aims to flip massive, game-dominating threats like Blightsteel Colossus, It That Betrays, Darksteel Colossus, and Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur directly onto the battlefield. While Shaun, Father of Synths provides an alternate avenue to duplicate legendary attackers like Combustion Man or Moraug, Fury of Akoum, the deck's primary strength lies in its raw creature cheat velocity. Its main limitations stem from a near-total absence of cheap reactive interaction, minimal plan protection, and occasional whiffs when flipping utility creatures like Drift of Phantasms.
