Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls leads a Rakdos group-slug deck that turns ordinary opponent actions into a self-feeding draw engine. The primary plan is to resolve cheap global pain enchantments such as Roiling Vortex, Manabarbs, and Court of Ambition, then play Valgavoth so every opponent's first life loss each turn draws an extra card and grows the commander. Those draws find more pain permanents, protection, and finishers. The deck closes with Chandra's Ignition on an oversized Valgavoth, or with Exsanguinate, Gray Merchant, and the doubling effects of Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Wound Reflection. It is a mid-speed incremental deck that punishes opposing draws, lands, and spells while using Valgavoth's triggered draw to outpace its own symmetrical damage.
