Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Voltron and graveyard aggro build commanded by Akawalli, the Seething Tower. The strategy uses efficient self-mill creatures and spells to quickly fill the graveyard with permanent cards. Reaching four permanents grants Akawalli +2/+2 and trample, while reaching eight permanents makes it a 7/7 that cannot be blocked by more than one creature. The deck augments this built-in size and evasion with scaling power enhancers like Criminal Past, Nighthowler, and Blackblade Reforged, alongside combat multipliers such as Fireshrieker. A suite of low-cost instant protection spells and death-triggers, including Tamiyo's Safekeeping, Blossoming Defense, and Kaya's Ghostform, shields Akawalli from removal during attack turns. While the deck delivers rapid single-target commander damage eliminations, its sequential combat clock requires multiple turns to dispatch three opponents, and it remains vulnerable to graveyard-clearing exile effects that reset its descend abilities.
