Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Control strategy built around Vren, the Relentless and a dedicated Polymorph package. The Unspeakable is the only creature card included in the 99, allowing spells like Polymorph, Proteus Staff, and Reweave to turn incidental creature tokens into an immediate 6/7 flying, trample threat that recurs Arcane spells on combat damage. Vren sits in the command zone as both a stax-like replacement effect that denies death triggers and an engine that creates exponentially scaling Relentless Rat tokens whenever opposing creatures are exiled. A dense package of 14 counterspells, spot removal, and bounce keeps opposing boards in check, while attrition enchantments like Painful Quandary and Mist of Stagnation punish resource development. The deck wins through compounding Rat combat damage and evasive Arcane-backed attacks.
