Deck overview

This deck leverages Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph to turn low-impact pingers into formidable removal and burn engines. By boosting every instance of exactly 1 damage with an additional 2 damage from Ghyrson, simple tap abilities from creatures like Prodigal Sorcerer and Cunning Sparkmage deal 3 damage apiece. This allows the deck to sweep utility creatures, snipe opposing commanders, and chip away at opposing life totals. Fast artifact ramp facilitates early deployment of both Ghyrson and support creatures. A robust counterspell suite protects the engine from mass removal, while cards like Razorkin Needlehead convert opponent actions into direct damage. If the board stalls, high-cost dragons such as Niv-Mizzet, Parun and Niv-Mizzet, Visionary provide late-game card draw and an incidental infinite draw-and-damage loop that can instantly finish the table.
