Zuko, Dragon of the East by user7311886

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Zuko

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Mardu deck is built around Fire Lord Zuko as a firebending beatdown commander. It uses cheap red auras and firebreathing activations to turn his attack trigger into repeatable pump, while warp, plot, lesson, and flicker effects add +1/+1 counters whenever spells are cast from exile or permanents enter from exile. The backup plan is a second wave of firebenders-Zuko, Exiled Prince, Iroh, and Avatar Roku-plus flying/evasive creatures and Lessons that supply removal or recursion. It wins through commander damage or a big trampling combat step, with instant-speed protection to keep the key attacker alive. There is no combo; the deck is a straightforward, resilient aggro strategy with moderate speed and strong instant-speed interaction.
