Yshtola B4 by Maloydeus

Format: Commander

Commander: Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This is a tightly built Esper control-combo deck helmed by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The primary plan is to establish a critical mass of card advantage - Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, Necropotence, The One Ring, and Y'shtola's own life-loss draw trigger - while holding the table at bay with a dense counterspell and removal suite, then close the game with one of several compact, commander-independent combos. The fastest and most reliable line is Thassa's Oracle plus Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact, backed by a deep tutor column. Secondary wins include the Mindcrank + Bloodchief Ascension mill loop, Hullbreaker Horror/Displacer Kitten loops into Aetherflux Reservoir, and Bolas's Citadel storm. Y'shtola's ping on mana value 3+ noncreature spells doubles as a drain and life-gain engine that feeds the Reservoir.
