Phage's Deadly Touch by Grizzlegrom

Format: Commander

Commander: Phage the Untouchable

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 37

Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around the high-risk, high-reward commander Phage the Untouchable. Because Phage causes its controller to lose the game if not cast from hand, the list dedicates substantial slots to enablers that circumvent this drawback: Torpor Orb nullifies the enter trigger, Sundial of the Infinite ends the turn with the trigger on the stack, and Command Beacon, Campfire, and Netherborn Altar place Phage directly into hand. Once deployed safely, Phage functions as a lethal Voltron threat, eliminating players in a single swing when combined with evasion pieces like Brotherhood Regalia, Whispersilk Cloak, and Shizo, Death's Storehouse. The deck supports this plan with an extensive mono-black control suite featuring seven board wipes, versatile single-target removal, and heavy mana doublers like Crypt Ghast and Cabal Coffers. If Phage is answered, the deck easily pivots to game-winning alternative lines via Bolas's Citadel or massive Exsanguinate drains.
