Deck overview

This Edgar Markov deck executes a classic Mardu Vampire tribal strategy focused on aggressive board flooding and aristocrat drain effects. Edgar Markov's Eminence ability guarantees a 1/1 Vampire token whenever any Vampire spell is cast from hand, ensuring rapid board development without spending extra mana or risking the commander on the battlefield early. The deck curves low-cost Vampires into potent lords like Stromkirk Captain, Legion Lieutenant, and Cordial Vampire, creating an imposing combat clock by Turn 5. As a secondary avenue, aristocrat pieces such as Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Sanctum Seeker turn opposing blocks or board wipes into lethal life swings. The deck also contains the game-ending two-card infinite combo of Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Its primary vulnerabilities stem from a lack of instant-speed mass protection against sweepers and zero stack interaction.
