Secret Commander... Don't Blink! by Searino

Format: Commander

Commander: Volrath, the Shapestealer

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Volrath, the Shapestealer leads a Sultai shapeshifter deck that turns +1/+1 counters into a 7/5 copying engine. The primary plan is to put counters on creatures, then activate Volrath to become the best countered creature on the battlefield and win through commander damage. Secondary plans use clone effects and token copies, such as Progenitor Mimic and Rite of Replication, to out-value opponents. Hadana's Climb and Winged Temple of Orazca turn a large Volrath into a flying one-shot kill. The deck is not a combo deck; it wins through incremental combat and counter-based pressure.
