Deck overview

This is a mono-black control-attrition deck that weaponises Maha, Its Feathers Night's ability to set all opponents' creatures' base toughness to 1. By pairing that effect with a dense suite of mass -1/-1 effects, mass drain, and black mana doublers, the deck turns every small -X/-X spell into a near-total board wipe while generating large life swings. The primary victory routes are the devotion-life drain of Gray Merchant of Asphodel, X-spend spells like Exsanguinate, and the lifeloss engine of Bolas's Citadel combined with the stickiness of Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. Temporal Extortion provides a rare extra-turn effect to slam the door. The deck is straightforward: stabilise, reduce opponent creatures, drain the table.
