Deck overview

This mono-blue tempo deck is commanded by Lyra, Tolarian Archangel and features a unique engine powered by fifteen copies of Sphinx's Approach. The primary plan focuses on triggering Lyra's end-step ability by drawing three cards in a turn, steadily creating an army of 3/3 flying Angel tokens. Casting multiple copies of Sphinx's Approach churns through the library while loading the graveyard to activate its alternate ability, which cheats powerhouse payoffs like Consecrated Sphinx and Windreader Sphinx straight onto the battlefield. Secondary payoffs such as Ominous Seas and Psychosis Crawler translate continuous card draw into 8/8 Kraken beaters and direct life drain. Defensive counterspells, bounce spells like Engulf the Shore, and protection pieces like Swiftfoot Boots and Samut, Tyrant of Naktamun safeguard the board while the flying armada closes out the game.
