Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Zombie tribal midrange build commanded by Varina, Lich Queen. Its primary strategy revolves around establishing early Zombie presence to trigger Varina's attack ability, drawing and discarding cards to fill the graveyard while sculpting a potent hand and buffering life totals. The deck converts discard and graveyard velocity into board presence through token generation (Bone Miser, Cryptcaller Chariot, Varina's activated ability) and overwhelms opponents with evasive combat damage enabled by Wonder, Lord of the Accursed, and Zombie Master. High-end payoffs like Archfiend of Ifnir provide one-sided creature board wipes upon looting, while The Scarab God and Diregraf Captain deliver non-combat life drain. The deck features functional interaction and protection via Clever Concealment and cheap counterspells, though its proactive plan remains largely reliant on untapping with a developed creature board.
