Deck overview

This Boros deck is an aggressive Voltron strategy commanded by Raiyuu, Storm's Edge. The game plan focuses on casting low-cost mana acceleration and Equipment tutors during the opening turns, deploying equip-cost reducers like Puresteel Paladin and Forge Anew, and resolving Raiyuu on Turn 4. When Raiyuu attacks alone, its ability untaps it and grants an immediate extra combat phase. Combined with double strike from Lizard Blades or massive power buffs from Blackblade Reforged, Raiyuu can deal over 20 commander damage in a single turn, eliminating opponents one by one between Turns 5 and 7. The deck defends its threat with an extensive suite of protective equipment and instant-speed answers fetched by Sunforger, including Boros Charm and Teferi's Protection. While the deck excels at single-target combat elimination and card advantage through doubled combat triggers, its reliance on combat damage and lack of stack interaction leave it vulnerable to mass bounce spells and fast combo decks.
