Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos treasure-combo deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable, an indestructible, hasty 8/7 Dragon whose noncombat-damage trigger is the entire engine. Every ping - a Pyrohemia or Pestilence activation, Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, Star of Extinction, Self-Destruct - converts Smaug's toughness into Treasure tokens. With Reckless Fireweaver or Mayhem Devil in play, Smaug plus a repeatable ping enchantment becomes an arbitrary-damage loop that drains every opponent, and chunk-ping spells bank 13-20 Treasures into a one-shot Crackle with Power or Exsanguinate. A full ritual suite (Dark Ritual, Seething Song, Geosurge, Jeska's Will) and six cheap tutors make turns 3-4 Smaug the norm. The deck also carries two commanderless combos: Underworld Breach + Grinding Station + Lotus Petal into storm Grapeshot, and Reiterate buyback off a large Jeska's Will into infinite mana for Walking Ballista. It is a glass cannon tuned to win on turns 4-5.
