Deck overview

This deck is a Temur Midrange build focused on the mutate mechanic led by Illuna, Apex of Wishes. Its primary strategy involves ramping in the early turns, establishing a non-Human creature host, and mutating Illuna onto it by Turn 5 to cheat massive nonland permanents directly onto the battlefield. Payoffs include devastating combat threats like Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, evasion enablers like Archetype of Imagination, and value engines like Auspicious Starrix and The Great Henge. The deck can duplicate mutate stacks using copy effects such as Rite of Replication and Springheart Nantuko, or bounce its creatures to trigger mutate abilities repeatedly. While powerful in combat, the deck relies on multi-turn attack steps and faces the inherent risk of mutate stacks being vulnerable to single-target removal and board sweepers.
