Deck overview

This Rakdos combo deck turns self-inflicted noncombat damage into overwhelming Treasure generation and immediate table kills. Helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, an 8/7 flyer with native indestructible and haste, the deck aims to accelerate into its commander and immediately strike it with massive damage spells such as Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, or Star of Extinction. Because Smaug cannot be destroyed by damage, each instance converts directly into 13 to 20 Treasure tokens. This burst of mana immediately fuels game-ending finishers like Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or lethal artifact-entry drain from Mirkwood Bats and Reckless Fireweaver. Robust backup lines centered on Brash Taunter and Wrathful Red Dragon ensure that the deck can execute lethal redirection damage even without its commander. Efficient redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and uncounterable effects protect the combo during its winning turn.
