Deck overview

This Dimir deck exploits the unrestricted copy rule of Sphinx's Approach by running 26 copies in a single list. The core engine centers on using early cantrip casts and self-mill tools like Traumatize or Stitcher's Supplier to stock four copies of Sphinx's Approach into the graveyard. Once primed, a subsequent Sphinx's Approach exiles four copies from the graveyard to cheat massive payoffs—most notably Sphinx of the Chimes—directly onto the battlefield without paying their mana costs. With Sphinx of the Chimes active, discarding pairs of identical Sphinx's Approach cards generates massive card draw to storm through the deck. The endgame converts this immense card velocity into table-wide mill via kicked Maddening Cacophony, Singularity Rupture, Brain Freeze, and Riverchurn Monument. Commander Uldaros Theorix acts as a late-game recursion engine, recasting exiled mill and draw spells to close out the game.
