Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a high-power Mardu reanimator-combo list helmed by Kaalia of the Vast. The primary plan cheats oversized Angels, Demons, and Dragons into play-either by attacking with Kaalia or by hard-reanimating them-then converts that board into a win through layered infinite loops, life-drain engines, and extra-combat bursts. The 99 is packed with premium tutors, a dense reanimation package, and multiple independent combo lines that do not require the commander, so the deck functions as a graveyard-centric combo deck that happens to have Kaalia as a powerful alternate assembly vector. Primary wins come from recursive sacrifice loops (Nether Traitor, Forsaken Miner, Bridge from Below) paired with Phyrexian Altar or Altar of Dementia and a drain piece, from Razaketh, the Foulblooded tutoring into Ad Nauseam or the same loops, and from combat closes led by Scourge of the Throne, Terror of the Peaks, and Archon of Cruelty. Protection and free interaction keep the combo turn clean.
