Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul lands and counters deck led by Toph, Greatest Earthbender. Its strategy centers on the earthbend mechanic, which turns lands into hasty creature threats with +1/+1 counters that return to the battlefield tapped if destroyed. Toph acts as a decisive force multiplier by granting all land creatures double strike. Low-cost ramp spells enable a consistent turn 4 Toph, immediately creating a 4/4 double-striking attacker. On turn 5, counter doublers like The Earth Crystal and heavy hitters like Bumi, Unleashed or Avatar Kyoshi, Earthbender establish an overwhelming combat clock. Card draw engines like Terrasymbiosis and Bitter Work refill the hand as lands attack. While the deck lacks counterspells for stack defense, it leverages resilient land recursion, versatile permanent removal, and low-cost protection spells to defend its board and eliminate opponents by turn 7.
