Deck overview

This Orzhov Equipment Voltron deck is helmed by the dual commanders **Squall, SeeD Mercenary** and **Cloud, Midgar Mercenary**. Squall grants double strike to a lone attacker and recurs low-MV permanents on combat damage, while Cloud tutors an Equipment on ETB and doubles all triggered abilities from itself and attached Equipment. The primary game plan is to rapidly suit up one or both commanders with Equipment like **Buster Sword** and **Mask of Memory**, leveraging Cloud's trigger-doubling for explosive card advantage and mana, and Squall's recursion to recycle key pieces or small utility permanents. Commander damage is the main win condition, with **Squall's** double-strike hits accelerated by **Lightning Greaves** and **Conqueror's Flail** for protection. Secondary finishers include big X-spells like **Exsanguinate** and **Torment of Hailfire** when a large mana pool is assembled. The deck is resilient through Equipment persistence and recursion via **Squall**, **Phoenix Down**, and **Cid, Freeflier Pilot**, but it is slow to close out games and depends heavily on its commanders for speed.
