Deck overview

This deck utilizes Loot, the Anomaly to convert negative power debuffs into lethal positive combat damage. Because Loot's combat damage scales with how far below zero his power drops, cards like Belbe's Armor, negative Auras, and Agatha's Soul Cauldron exiling Hyalopterous Lemure turn him into a one-shot commander damage threat. The deck breaks parity on symmetric lock pieces like Ensnaring Bridge and Meekstone, as Loot's negative power allows him to attack under an empty hand and untap freely while locking out opposing threats. A resilient aristocrats shell provides token fodder for Loot's Threshold ability, ramp, card draw, and an independent life-drain backup plan through Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Blood Artist.
