Deck overview

Urza, Lord High Artificer commands a premier competitive Commander deck that combines explosive artifact mana acceleration, asymmetric stax locks, and compact infinite mana combos. Urza serves as a mana engine, token creator, and infinite mana outlet in the command zone. The deck uses format-ceiling fast mana such as Mana Vault, Mox Diamond, and Grim Monolith to deploy Urza and stax pieces on Turns 1 through 3. Urza breaks parity on heavy lock pieces like Winter Orb, Static Orb, and Trinisphere by tapping them for blue mana during the preceding player's end step, ensuring untap restrictions only affect opponents. The deck wins by creating infinite mana with Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal, Grim Monolith and Power Artifact, or Hullbreaker Horror bounce loops. Infinite mana allows Urza to exile the library, bounce all opposing boards, and establish a total lockout supported by free counterspells.
