Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos Group Slug and Wheels strategy commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The game plan focuses on punishing normal game actions like drawing cards and untapping. By casting cheap passive damage sources like Roiling Vortex and Razorkin Needlehead, Valgavoth reliably triggers on each opponent's turn to draw cards and accumulate +1/+1 counters. In the midgame, the deck compounds this pressure using forced-draw effects and wheels such as Wheel of Fortune, Dark Deal, and Teferi's Puzzle Box alongside severe damage dealers like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Underworld Dreams. These engines deal symmetrical damage that burns all three opponents while keeping your hand full. Redirection spells like Bolt Bend and Imp's Mischief protect critical permanents from removal. The deck consistently closes out the table around turn 7 through combined wheel burn, flying commander damage, and board-wide finishers like Chandra's Ignition.
