Doom Prevails (PC)

Format: Commander

Commander: Doctor Doom, King of Latveria

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Grixis Villain-tribal deck helmed by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria, built around the connive/discard mechanic and the "play from exile/graveyard" payoff cards that turn discarded cards into resources. The plan is to cast a steady stream of Villain creatures, use connive to draw and discard, and then convert the graveyard into value through Mayhem (Abomination, World Ravager, Chameleon, Master of Disguise, The Squadron Sinister), Containment Construct, Moonstone, Harsh Mistress, Currency Converter, and Doom's Time Platform. Doom himself is a repeatable connive engine whose land-discard trigger drains each opponent for 2. The deck wins by building a wide, evasive Villain board - The Squadron Sinister gives the team +2/+2, flying, and haste; Loki, the Deceiver and Madame Hydra generate attackers; Ultron, Unlimited and Endless Ranks of HYDRA spam tokens - backed by drain effects from The Frightful Four, Kang, Temporal Tyrant, and Typhoid Mary, Fractured. It is a midrange value deck that closes through combat rather than a fast combo line.
