Deck overview

Wick, the Whorled Mind is the draw engine and finisher of a Grixis Rat tribal deck: early Rat tokens build a single Snail, and sacrificing that Snail converts it into mass damage and card draw. The primary plan is a wide combat kill with Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm or Shared Animosity; a secondary path uses damage multipliers such as Fiery Emancipation or Dictate of the Twin Gods to make one Wick activation lethal. Vren, Lord Skitter, Piper, and Karumonix provide extra token generation, discard, and incidental graveyard hate. There is no true hidden commander, though Ashcoat effectively acts as a secondary lord that can take over combat if Wick is held back.
