Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Midrange strategy that blends Rat tribal synergy with reanimator tactics. Led by Vren, the Relentless, the deck turns opposing creature deaths into exiled resources while creating Relentless Rat tokens that scale in power. Early turns focus on sculpting the hand and graveyard using efficient card filtering like Careful Study and Frantic Search. By turn 4, the deck deploys high-impact threats either by casting Vren, the Relentless or reanimating game-ending creatures like Valgavoth, Terror Eater and Consecrated Sphinx. The mid-game leverages sacrifice engines like Priest of Forgotten Gods and Grave Pact to clear opposing creatures and trigger Vren repeatedly. The deck closes games around turn 7 by overwhelming opponents with massive, unblockable Rat attacks via Marrow-Gnawer or sheer combat damage.
