Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Golgari reanimator and stax strategy commanded by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with efficient mana dorks and land ramp to deploy Meren ahead of curve. Once established, it builds experience counters using sacrifice fodder like Sakura-Tribe Elder and Spore Frog. The deck quickly transitions into an oppressive attrition engine by repeatedly recurring edict creatures like Plaguecrafter and Fleshbag Marauder, while Braids, Cabal Minion and Sheoldred, Whispering One systematically strip opposing boards. It leverages deep tutor support from Entomb, Buried Alive, and Birthing Pod to dump high-impact bombs into the graveyard. The deck finishes games on Turn 7 by casting Living Death or reanimating Archon of Cruelty, Grave Titan, and Avenger of Zendikar, draining life totals with Gray Merchant of Asphodel while locking down opposing combat steps.
