Deck overview

This Dimir deck leverages Satoru Umezawa to cheat devastating, high-mana creatures into combat for only four mana. The game plan relies on deploying elusive one-drop creatures like Changeling Outcast and Slither Blade on early turns, followed by casting Satoru on Turn 2 or 3. Once an unblocked attacker is declared on Turn 4, Satoru grants any creature in hand ninjutsu for {2}{U}{B}. This drops game-ending threats such as Blightsteel Colossus, Ancient Silver Dragon, or massive Eldrazi directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Satoru's triggered ability replaces card investment by filtering through the top three cards of the library on each activation. A streamlined suite of free and one-mana counterspells protects Satoru and the cheated bombs from opposing disruption, while backup ninjas like Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow maintain lethal pressure if the primary commander is targeted.
