Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Selenia, Dark Angel as an infinitely repeatable life sink from the command zone. Because Selenia's self-bounce ability costs 2 life and can be activated multiple times in response to itself without passing priority, the pilot can instantly adjust their life total to any desired threshold. The primary strategy capitalizes on this mechanic to trigger Near-Death Experience at exactly 1 life, or to cast Repay in Kind and Magus of the Mirror to drop opponents' life totals to lethal thresholds. Supporting the combo is a resilient control shell containing efficient spot removal, board sweepers like Toxic Deluge, robust card draw engines including Necropotence, and protective spells such as Grand Abolisher and Angel's Grace. The deck trades life aggressively to generate card velocity and assemble sudden, decisive victories while using cards like Children of Korlis and Tainted Sigil as insurance.
