Deck overview

This deck is a focused Gruul typal aggro deck led by Tovolar, Dire Overlord. The primary strategy curves low-cost Wolves and Werewolves into Tovolar on turn 3, converting early combat connections into significant card advantage. Once Tovolar automatically triggers nightbound status at upkeep by controlling three or more pack members, the creatures transform into large, high-stat threats with menace, trample, and direct damage triggers. The deck leverages game-ending combat multipliers like Unnatural Growth, Beastmaster Ascension, and Berserkers' Onslaught to close the game across turns 5 to 7. While the deck boasts high draw velocity and strong board presence, its reliance on combat damage and vulnerability to well-timed board sweepers represent its main limitations.
