PaoU Deck by user7032085

Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

A Simic Merfolk value-aggro deck built around Hakbal's combat-triggered explores. Hakbal turns each Merfolk into card advantage and +1/+1 counter generation, letting the deck chain lands from hand, grow a wide board, and draw through lords and payoff spells. Secondary plans include a +1/+1 counter engine with Hardened Scales and proliferate, plus Simic Ascendancy as an alternate win. Kumena, Tatyova, and Tishana act as hidden draw engines if Hakbal is removed. The commander is the engine, not a combo piece; the deck wins by making Merfolk unblockable through Herald of Secret Streams or islandwalk and attacking for lethal.
