Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir graveyard control and reanimation strategy built around Mirko, Obsessive Theorist. The game plan focuses on filling the graveyard quickly using surveil spells, cantrips, and dedicated tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive. Once Mirko enters the battlefield, every surveil trigger adds +1/+1 counters to increase his power. At each of your end steps, Mirko returns a creature with lower power from your graveyard directly onto the battlefield. Early turns focus on recurring value creatures like Mulldrifter and Baleful Strix to draw cards. As Mirko grows, the deck transitions into reanimating massive combat threats such as Grave Titan, Doom Whisperer, and Overseer of the Damned. Standalone reanimation spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Living Death provide redundancy and explosive multi-creature turns. The deck controls the board with creature-based removal and sweepers while applying lethal flying and combat pressure across consecutive turns.
