Deck overview

This is a Jeskai "targets-matter" spellslinger deck built to exploit Hinata, Dawn-Crowned. Hinata discounts every spell by the number of things it targets and taxes opponents' targeted spells, making the deck's fourteen-plus multi-target X-spells - Crackle with Power, Distorting Wake, Aurelia's Fury, Curse of the Swine, By Force, Icy Blast, and friends - absurdly efficient. Each spell-chain turn is fueled by magecraft payoffs: Archmage Emeritus, Whirlwind of Thought, and Voracious Bibliophile convert casts and targets into cards; Storm-Kiln Artist and Kykar, Wind's Fury convert them into mana; and Kykar, Third Path Iconoclast, Monastery Mentor, Ovika, Enigma Goliath, and Metallurgic Summonings convert them into an army. The deck closes games with a giant Crackle, an Open into Wonder alpha strike, a wholesale-steal turn via Willbreaker/Blatant Thievery, or an Aurelia's Fury lock. Shiko and Narset, Unified, Kykar, and Ovika serve as "hidden commanders" - any one of them can keep the engine running if Hinata is answered.
