Shilgengar

Format: Commander

Commander: Shilgengar, Sire of Famine

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Orzhov Angel reanimator deck is helmed by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine, a sacrifice engine that converts creatures-especially Angels-into Blood tokens, then spends six Blood to mass-reanimate the entire graveyard as Vampires with finality counters. The primary plan mills and tutors Angels into the yard, sacs them for explosive Blood generation, and floods the board with a flying army in one activation. Secondary paths include fair Angel tribal combat powered by Giada, Font of Hope, Lyra Dawnbringer, and Sephara, Sky's Blade, plus incidental drain from Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER. A key combo layer pairs the mass reanimation with Solemnity (or counter-removal via Thief of Blood/Aether Snap) so finality counters never stick, enabling repeated loops with sacrifice outlets. The deck wins through overwhelming reanimated boards, combat, and life-drain rather than pure combo speed.
