Deck overview

Kotis, the Fangkeeper is the deck’s central engine. The plan is to ramp into the commander, give it evasion, increase its combat damage, and use its trigger to exile and cast opposing cards for free. Aqueous Form, Thassa, God of the Sea, Trailblazer's Boots, and Whispersilk Cloak help create reliable connections, while Blackblade Reforged and Rancor increase the number and quality of cards that Kotis, the Fangkeeper can access. The deck also contains independent theft engines such as Dazzling Sphinx, Thief of Sanity, Brainstealer Dragon, and Mind's Dilation. Its main weakness is that the plan is value-oriented rather than deterministic. It has no compact two-card combo, no reliable table-wide lethal sequence, and no broad tutor package. A normal game develops around turn 7, with the first serious threat coming from a large evasive Kotis, the Fangkeeper attack rather than from an early combo.
