Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis tribal combat deck commanded by Loki, the Deceiver. The primary strategy focuses on deploying impactful Villain creatures, then using Loki's attack trigger to generate temporary nonlegendary token copies of those Villains in combat. Connecting with Villains generates steady card draw, while connive triggers filter draws and grow threats. The list features strong clone redundancy with cards like Spark Double, Irenicus's Vile Duplication, and Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, allowing board states to scale rapidly without relying on the legend rule. Utility cards like Sundial of the Infinite allow token copies to remain permanently on the battlefield past the end step. While the deck boasts explosive combat output and card advantage, its reliance on the combat phase and absence of countermagic leave it vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers and fast combo strategies.
