Deck overview

This Grixis midrange deck is led by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria and centers on a Villain kindred theme powered by connive and discard synergies. The primary strategy ramps out Doctor Doom on Turn 4 to immediately start granting menace and conniving at the beginning of combat. Discarding lands drains opponents for 2 life each, while discarding nonland cards puts +1/+1 counters on your attacking Villains. The deck scales board presence through token generators like Madame Hydra, Ultron, Unlimited, and Endless Ranks of HYDRA, supported by team-wide buffs from Iron Monger, Sadistic Tycoon and The Squadron Sinister. Utility pieces such as Containment Construct and Currency Converter turn connive discards into direct card advantage and extra board presence. While the deck boasts strong engine redundancy and resilient board wipes, it lacks instant-speed stack interaction and defensive countermagic, leaving it vulnerable to opposing combo finishes and mass board removal.
