Commander: Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a focused mono-black aristocrats deck helmed by Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel. The core strategy revolves around sacrificing creatures to trigger death-based value engines - token generation, card draw, and drain effects - while using the commander's ETB/attack trigger to draw cards and eventually transform into a flying 5/5 that grants a persistent drain emblem. The primary win condition is assembling an infinite loop (e.g., Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar + Blood Artist) to drain the table. Secondary finishes include Torment of Hailfire fuelled by massive mana from Cabal Coffers/Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, or a critical mass of Gray Merchant of Asphodel devotion. The deck lacks traditional tutors, relying instead on high redundancy of its key roles (sac outlets, recursion creatures, drain effects) and a dense draw engine suite to find its pieces.
