Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Esper Sphinx tribal midrange deck commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. The game plan revolves around leveraging the commander's Eminence ability alongside low-cost mana artifacts and cost-reducing creatures to deploy high-mana, high-impact Sphinxes ahead of schedule. The midgame establishes insurmountable card advantage through continuous draw engines such as Kindred Discovery, Black Market Connections, and combat triggers from Tivit, Seller of Secrets and Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. Transitioning into the late game, the deck presents overwhelming aerial pressure using Magister Sphinx, Sphinx of the Second Sun, and the commander itself to steal and cast spells from milled opponents' libraries. Robust countermagic and instant-speed removal safeguard the board from opposing win attempts and board wipes, while an auxiliary reanimation package provides strong engine recovery.
