Commander: Elminster

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Azorius deck, helmed by Elminster, is a planeswalker-token strategy built around scrying and digging to fuel the commander's cost reduction and token generation. The core loop is: scry heavily (Matoya, Archon Elder, Jace's Sanctum, Mystic Speculation, Planetarium of Wan Shi Tong), use Elminster's +2 to draw and scry, then deploy his -3 to create Faerie Dragon tokens equal to the exiled card's mana value. Token doublers - Bard, King of Dale, Elspeth, Storm Slayer, Exalted Sunborn, Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation, and Divine Visitation - multiply the army into a lethal flying swarm. Big token spells like Decree of Justice, Entreat the Angels, Finale of Glory, and Storm Herd provide alternate burst. The deck protects its planeswalkers with Deification, attack taxes (Archangel of Tithes, Archon of Absolution, Norn's Annex, Sphere of Safety), and a counterspell suite. It is a deliberate mid-power (bracket 3) value deck that wins through overwhelming combat inevitability rather than combos.
