Merfolk by user7431439

Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hakbal of the Surging Soul leads a synergistic Merfolk kindred deck that scales aggressively via the explore mechanic and plus one plus one counter distribution. By turning every Merfolk on the board into a repeatable card filter and stat buffer, Hakbal fuels explosive mana development and continuous card advantage. The deck leverages lords and evasion enablers like Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident paired with Aquitect's Will to push unblockable islandwalk damage, or uses Herald of Secret Streams to bypass defenses entirely. An alternate non-combat win line is available through Simic Ascendancy.
