Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and life-manipulation midrange strategy commanded by Jerren, Corrupted Bishop. The primary game plan revolves around utilizing nontoken Human deaths to amass creature tokens, carefully adjusting life totals with cards like Wall of Blood, Blood Celebrant, and Doom Whisperer, and paying six mana at end step to transform Jerren into Ormendahl, the Corrupter at exactly 13 life. Once transformed, Ormendahl serves as a 6/6 flying, trample, lifelink threat that converts extra creatures into card advantage. The deck supplements this beatdown plan with aristocrat drain effects from The Meathook Massacre and Syr Konrad, the Grim, as well as powerhouse standalone value engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Westvale Abbey. Because it lacks fast tutors and combo finishes, the deck grinds down opposing life totals over multiple turns while managing its own life total as a precise resource.
